Siemens Building Technologies will establish Bewator as a Global Centre of Competence for access control products. Bewator and Siemens Building Technologies have complementary product portfolios and channels to market. The existing organizations will be able to leverage each other’s strengths in sales and marketing, R&D, product management and logistics. Bewator has been acquired by Siemens to create a platform for growth and there will be no changes to Bewator’s daily business operations with a maintained strong focus on customers. Bewator’s organisation structure and management will remain in place. Bewator will also continue to operate under the Bewator brand. “Bewator has been pursuing a growth strategy with the ambition to become one of the leading European players in the field of Access Security. It is very satisfying to see that we have created one of the European security market’s most established product portfolios, from code locks to integrated systems and that Siemens share our view of the continued development potential”, says Bo Kastensson, CEO/Group Managing Director at Bewator Group. “Bewator has a strong distribution network and significant installer relationships in the Nordic countries and in the UK with own sales offices also in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Bewator also market the product range via strong partners, distributors and installers in other major international markets. “Both Bewator and Siemens look forward to deepening and strengthening the partnership with Bewator’s existing international partners, distributors and installers. These are core to the future strategy of the combined operations,” he said. “With the acquisition Siemens Building Technologies takes a further step towards strengthening its security products business. “Bewator is an exciting company. Together we will take further steps to grow our combined security businesses and to strengthen our position as a leading supplier worldwide. We look forward to developing strong and growth oriented partnerships with Bewator’s product distributors and installers”, says François-Xavier Hédon, Head of Fire Safety & Security Products division at Siemens.
