♦ Dahua Carries St Marys Freight Hub – St Marys Freight Hub in western Sydney has selected a Dahua CCTV solution comprising WizMind cameras and Dahua 4Mp, 45x optical PTZs with 250m IR. These robust units feature IP67 ratings against moisture and H.265 compression.

St Marys Freight Hub employs 175 and covers approximately 10 hectares of the 43-hectare Pacific National railway site located beside Dunheved Business Park, on a site located between the railway line, Lee Holm Road, Forrester Road and Christie Street.

The hub is a key piece of NSW infrastructure was approved in May 2020, construction commenced in November 2020 and the freight hub begun operating in mid-December 2021. Containerised freight moves via rail from Port Botany to St Marys, removing 80,000 truck movements from Sydney’s roads annually.

The St Marys site is strategically located close to Western Sydney-based logistics and distribution centres, and 5 port shuttle trains run from Port Botany to St Marys each day.

Phase 1 of the project includes 7 hectares of intermodal terminal and 3 hectares for an empty shipping container park. Further phases will enable St Marys to become a key link in the wider Pacific National intermodal network, with connections to Parkes for regional NSW-based exporters. As the facilities grow, the security system will evolve.

ACFS Port Logistics managing director and CEO Arthur Tzaneros said that St Marys would be a catalyst for a reframing of the intra-Sydney supply chain.

“There are enormous opportunities to unlock the full potential of the Hub with future development of the site to enable unpacking of containers onsite, storage of goods, and then rapid distribution for B2B and e-Commerce. The opportunities are unparalleled in Western Sydney.”
