A SURVEY conducted by Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC and CNET, found 28 per cent of Americans have at least 1 smart home device.
The report also found that 79 per cent of those with smart home devices say it makes their life easier and 76 per cent of those with a smart home device controlled it using their mobile device. According to the report, 47 per cent of people ages 18-34 have connected home technology, parents with children under 18 living at home are almost twice as likely to have smart home products 42 to 23 per cent, respectively).
Of those surveyed, 72 per cent say it provides them peace of mind when it comes to home security, 91 per cent would recommend smart home devices, 57 per cent say it saves them time at an average of 30 minutes a day, 76 per cent control their smart home device on a mobile device, while 40 per cent of those people control two on mobile devices.
According to a recent forecast, the smart home market will exceed $US60B by 2021. ♦
