Super Smart i-PRO X Series Fisheye – i-PRO has released its first X-Series fisheye cameras with generative AI running at the edge, combining 360-degree coverage with on-camera analytics designed for real-time operation without reliance on cloud services or external servers.
At the heart of this camera range is an embedded generative AI engine running on an Ambarella CV72 AI vision SoC. The system supports free-text interaction, allowing operators to define detection criteria using natural language rather than preconfigured rules. Descriptions such as a ‘person lying down’ or a ‘delivery vehicle’ can be entered directly, with the camera continuously analysing the scene and generating alerts when conditions are met. All detection and feature extraction are processed on the device, reducing latency and removing the need for external analytics infrastructure.
The cameras also support generative AI search workflows using metadata generated at the edge. Recorded video can be queried using natural language via i-PROs Active Guard platform, allowing operators to locate objects, people or events without manual review. This architecture keeps video data on premises while leveraging metadata for search, supporting privacy and compliance requirements while reducing investigation time.
Additional AI functions include on-site learning, allowing the system to adapt detection to the specific environment, and AI processing relay, which extends analytics capability to non-AI cameras within the system.
Imaging is based on a 12.5MP fisheye sensor delivering full panoramic coverage from a single device. i-PRO’s AI noise reduction is designed to reduce noise and motion blur in low light, improving image clarity and supporting more accurate detection. Integrated IR illumination and optional white light provide visibility in low light and full darkness.
The cameras are built on an open platform supporting Docker containers, allowing deployment of custom or third-party applications directly on the device. Cybersecurity features include secure boot, signed firmware and compliance with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 requirements. Outdoor models are housed in IK11 and IP69-rated enclosures for operation in exposed and industrial environments.
With full 360-degree coverage, the cameras are designed to reduce camera counts and simplify installation while providing real-time analytics at the edge. The range is expected to be available globally from June 2026.
