As lockdown continues in various states across Australia, Hills have worked hard to uphold COVID safe practices in the workplace – especially in its New South Wales branches.
According to Hills, staff have been working extremely hard to ensure COVID safe measures are continuously being met. Since June this year, Alexandria and Seven Hills branches have implemented a smart system where 2 staff members visit each branch daily and all other staff work from home, so staff can swiftly cover shifts without disrupting service in the event of exposure.
All New South Wales branches in lockdown provide ‘click & collect’ for customers to keep everyone protected. Alternatively, customers have the choice of ordering via email or over the phone followed by minimal contact pick-ups to ensure staff and customers are safe.
This is done by a Hills staff member placing the ordered products on the table at the front door which will then be opened when the customer picks up their order – all locations are provided with QR codes for customers to scan and check in.
Hills’ Trade Centre Manager Michael O’Connor has received positive feedback from staff and customers regarding the measures the company has taken to stay COVID safe.
“All branch staff feel very safe and happy that the Hills covid safety plan had been introduced, they are also happy that the service that we offer has not been interrupted”, O’Connor says.
“Some customers have advised that they also feel happy that their safety has been considered and respect that Hills is complying with current health advice and ensuring both staff and customers’ health are thought of.”
