Huge Sydney Council Security Contract
♦ Huge Sydney Council security contract – Sydney City Council invites tenders for the supply and maintenance of security equipment across more than 100 sites, including support for Inner Range, Gallagher, Pelco and Geutebruck systems.
Sydney Council seeks to engage the services of a suitably qualified security integration company to provide comprehensive and periodic preventative maintenance services of existing systems, undertake programmed asset renewal of existing equipment, and minor installations of new systems or expansions as required. The contract will be for a fixed term of 5 years with no additional term offered.
Council owns over 200 properties across the local government area with alarms, access control, or CCTV systems installed in approximately 100 of these properties. They vary in complexity and size, from the installation of a single duress button at a small community facility, to complex access control systems in the 25-storey corporate building, Town Hall House. Councilalso operates the Street Safety Camera Program, comprised of 104 public place CCTV cameras.
The City uses 2 main security systems:
* Gallagher – the primary access control system for larger corporate installations
* Inner Range Integriti – used in smaller facilities primarily for intruder alarm systems.
In addition to these main systems there are legacy Inner Range Concept systems and a small number of other brands of access control and alarm systems. These will be upgraded to either Gallagher or Integriti over the life of this tender.
The Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems comprise of the following installations:
* Pelco VideoXpert for the Street Safety Camera Program, Sydney Town Hall and Town Hall House
* Geutebruck Digital Video Recorders for smaller remote sites ranging from 4 – 32 cameras.
The successful tenderer will be required to provide full comprehensive maintenance, inclusive of all parts and labour for all of the systems identified in appendices 2, 3 & 4 of this RFT. Sites may be added or removed from these lists as properties are acquired or sold. The successful tenderer will be required to undertake periodic maintenance of all systems in accordance with the schedule outlined in Part B.
Council will identify an annual asset renewal plan for the ongoing upgrade and replacement of security and emergency management assets. Asset renewal is undertaken annually with system components being upgraded on average every seven to ten years as the technology reaches end of life, no longer meet the City’s operational requirements, or have been significantly surpassed by new technology capabilities.
Tenderers must submit tenders in the manner required by this RFT – the tender closes on September 14 – you can find out more here.
