ADT Guard Delivers Proactive Video Monitoring In New Zealand.

ADT Guard Delivers Proactive Video Monitoring – ADT has introduced a new proactive video monitoring service for the New Zealand market. Known as ADT Guard, the solution enables real-time intervention through video verification, live audio talk-down, and AI-driven analytics.

ADT Guard is designed to detect suspicious activity when a system is armed, allowing trained operators to verify threats and act before damage or theft occurs. By combining smart video analytics with 24-hour monitoring and audio response capability, the system reduces the need for physical patrols and aims to prevent crime, rather than recording it after the fact.

“Security isn’t just about watching footage after the fact — it’s about taking action when it matters,” said Alison Kingdon, ADT New Zealand general manager. “ADT Guard gives Kiwis proactive protection, with real-time monitoring and immediate intervention.”

The system uses AI-based detection to distinguish between people and vehicles, filtering out false alarms. When a verified threat is identified, monitoring staff can issue live warnings via camera-linked audio to deter intruders. The system also supports rapid escalation to emergency services where required.

ADT Guard is supported by ADT’s national team of 162 licensed professionals operating from 14 locations across New Zealand. The monitoring centre operates under the highest available grading and complies with local licensing requirements.

ADT positions the service as a cost-effective alternative to traditional patrol-based models. While conventional security patrols typically operate on random intervals and are limited to observation, ADT Guard applies constant monitoring with verified intervention protocols that can include direct contact with police.

The company says the service is suited to residential and commercial sites, offering real-time protection without false alarms or unnecessary callouts. ADT Guard is already in deployment and available to customers nationwide.
