Airport Security: Concerned With Efficiency, Not Security

0
FRANKFURT GERMANY - JUNE 18 2015: people at security check at Frankfurt international airport in Frankfurt Germany. In 2012 Frankfurt handled 57.5 million passengers.

DURING a TSA Internal investigation, 67 of 70 undercover agents beat security systems, including instances of carriage of weapons and fake explosives.

According to TSA Administrator Peter Neffenger, TSA agents are too concerned with moving people efficiently through security, instead of taking time to check items and people passing through for potential weapons or other dangerous equipment.

“The pressure to move more people through the line efficiently became more of a focus than it should have been,” Neffenger told the Argus Leader.

“I want the good guys to break the system, not the bad guys,” Neffenger said. “And I want the good guys to learn how to fix it.”

The TSA will run more internal tests to identify other security issues.♦
