Ajax KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller Available In Australia – Ajax Systems has released KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller, a wireless access control keypad designed for outdoor and indoor use where durable, high-security authentication is required.
Built to IP66 and targeting EN 50131 Grade 2 installations, the keypad supports contactless credentials, smartphones, and access codes, extending Ajax access control to gates, perimeters, plant rooms, loading docks, and other exposed locations.
KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller supports multiple authentication methods, including Pass cards and Tag key fobs using DESFire technology, smartphones via Bluetooth low energy, and numeric access codes. Up to 200 access devices and 200 smartphones can be enrolled, along with personal codes for registered users and temporary codes for unregistered users. Meanwhile, authorisation can be configured to require code confirmation even when a card, tag, or phone is used, adding an extra layer of protection against lost or stolen credentials.
The keypad supports 4 code types, including personal user codes, unregistered user codes, a shared keypad code, and RRU codes. Duress codes are supported for both individual users and the keypad itself, allowing a silent alarm to be raised if a user is forced to disarm a site. Brute force protection locks the keypad if repeated incorrect code attempts are detected, while remote code management allows credentials to be created, modified, or revoked through Ajax apps without site attendance.
Designed for exposed environments, the enclosure is rated IP66 for dust and water ingress and IK08 for impact resistance. The unit incorporates dual tamper switches, device authentication to prevent spoofing, and a holding screw to secure it to the SmartBracket mounting plate. A built-in panic button provides immediate emergency signalling when required, and a loud internal buzzer provides audible feedback for arming, disarming, alarms, and chime functions.
KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller uses Ajax Jeweller radio technology, delivering encrypted 2-way communication with hubs or range extenders at distances of up to 1700m in open space. Frequency hopping and regular polling protect against interference and jamming, while real-time device status reporting ensures operators are immediately aware of connectivity or power issues. Battery power is provided by 2 pre-installed CR123A batteries, delivering up to 3 years of operation with automatic low-battery notifications. An optional external power supply is supported for fixed installations.
Installation is designed to be fast and accurate, with no enclosure disassembly required. The SmartBracket includes a built-in bubble level, and pairing is completed by scanning a QR code – we’ve found Ajax devices very quick to enrol during testing. Configuration, access control logic, automation rules, and user permissions are managed remotely through Ajax apps. The keypad also supports automation device control alongside security mode changes, allowing access events to trigger lighting, gates, or other outputs.
Available in white, graphite, and black, KeyPad Outdoor Jeweller is compact, with measurements of 170 x 45 x 31.5mm and a weight of 258g – operating temperature ranges are from −25C to 60C.
