ARA Security Services Wins Brisbane Bus CCTV Contract.

ARA Security Services Wins Brisbane Bus CCTV – ARA Security Services has been awarded Brisbane City Council’s public transport CCTV contract, securing the integration scope for the rollout of new digital surveillance systems across the city’s bus fleet.

Along with ARA being named system integrator, March Networks was named as the camera and recording platform being installed.

According to the original tender, the project covers the staged retrofit of digital CCTV across 600 Brisbane City Council buses over a 5-year program. The existing onboard analogue systems have reached end of life and will be replaced with a new digital video surveillance platform incorporating cameras, onboard recording and open-source software to manage footage and system operation.

Brisbane City Council operates a fleet of approximately 1200 buses delivering public transport services across the metropolitan network. The retrofit program will be carried out within council depots across the Brisbane local government area. The contract requires supply, installation and commissioning of the new CCTV systems, along with the capacity to handle fleet-scale deployment over the full term of the rollout.

Council’s objective through the tender was to establish a stable source of supply for mobile CCTV hardware and recording systems, supported by a vendor with the technical and operational capacity to deliver large-scale fleet upgrades. The contract also required compatibility with open-source software platforms to support council’s long-term system management strategy.

ARA operates nationally as both a security distributor and a systems integrator. The Brisbane bus contract has been secured by its integration business, and will be responsible for design, installation and commissioning of the mobile CCTV solution across the fleet.
