ARA Security Services Wins Cairns CCTV – ARA Security Services has been awarded the contract to provide CCTV and Milestone XProtect video management software maintenance and support services for Cairns Regional Council.
The tender, awarded on July 22, 2025, includes responsibility for both physical CCTV infrastructure and the supporting VMS platform. The contract covers maintenance and support of the existing CCTV system and pricing for new or replacement hardware, as well as support for existing VMS software, including management of protocol changes. The contract requires specific experience with Milestone XProtect and Veracity software.
Cairns Regional Council’s scope sought a single supplier to handle both parts of the works. ARA Security Services will be responsible for servicing the region’s surveillance infrastructure across Cairns and Far North Queensland.

Meanwhile, Cairns Regional Council’s CCTV upgrade includes new installations and improvements to existing systems to support public safety and crime prevention. The works are expected to enhance coverage in key locations around the city, with expanded camera networks and improved system management.
Council operates a citywide CCTV network which is monitored locally and forms part of a coordinated community safety strategy in collaboration with Queensland Police and other stakeholders.
