ASSA ABLOY Updates HES Electric Strikes With Windstorm Certification.
ASSA ABLOY Updates HES Electric Strikes – ASSA ABLOY has released an updated generation of HES electric strikes with new windstorm resistance certification.
ASSA ABLOY’s HES 5000, 5300, 8000, and 8300 Series electric strikes have all achieved ANSI/SDI 250.13 certification for windstorm performance, extending their suitability for door security applications exposed to high wind and impact conditions.

According to Ross Nevdahl, HES product manager, the enhanced performance has been delivered through an engineering redesign that strengthens the product while preserving existing installation procedures. No changes are required to established fitting methods, allowing upgraded units to be specified or substituted without altering door preparation or installer practice.
The certification expands the range of environments in which the strikes can be deployed. Nevdahl said architects, installers, and integrators can specify the HES 5000, 5300, 8000, and 8300 Series in locations where wind loading and impact resistance are regulated considerations, with assurance of tested durability and compliance.
“By fortifying the design and achieving windstorm certification, we’ve expanded the applications for these products, while maintaining the performance and ease of installation that customers have always relied on,” he said.
