THE Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is seeking a flexible monitoring solution that leverages existing systems to enhance safety and security.

AIMS Cape Cleveland facility uses an access control system and IP surveillance system to monitor the site. The facility operates from 8am to 4.40pm Monday to Friday with physical security services required 7 days a week outside of these times and during public holidays.

A contractor is sought which would implement and operate policies and procedures for best practice for:

* People safety including AIMS staff and visitors and contracted security staff
* Monitoring and troubleshooting of plant, equipment and research instrumentation as required
* Physical security.

The Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) is a tropical marine research centre located primarily on a 207-hectare coastal site 50km from Townsville at Cape Ferguson, North Queensland. Established in 1972, by the Commonwealth of Australia, the institute's primary function is research for sustainable use and protection of the marine environment. The Institute investigates topics from broad-scale ecology to microbiology.
