Axis P3748-PLVE Panoramic Camera – Axis P3748-PLVE is a rugged outdoor-rated panoramic camera designed to provide wide-area surveillance using 4 independently positioned image sensors, each capable of 8MP resolution at 12.5 or 15 frames per second.

Housed in an IK10 vandal-resistant and IP66-rated casing, the unit is engineered for use in harsh environments with operating temperatures between -40C and 50C.

The P3748-PLVE supports day/night operation with Forensic WDR and built-in 360-degree infrared illumination using individually controllable LEDs. The camera’s removable IR-cut filter and minimum scene illumination of 0.4 lux (colour) and 0.35 lux (B/W) enhance performance in difficult lighting conditions. The unit uses a 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor and features a focal length of 3.18–7.42mm across each sensor, offering full 360-degree horizontal coverage and vertical fields of view from 23-degree to 54-degree, depending on configuration.

The camera incorporates PTRZ (pan, tilt, roll, zoom) remote adjustment, allowing sensor positioning and configuration without mechanical intervention, reducing installation time and maintenance overhead. It supports mounting options that include ceiling and corner installations, enabling 360-degree or 270-degree area coverage respectively.

Compression support includes H.264 (baseline, main, high), H.265, and Axis Zipstream, which reduces bandwidth and storage use without compromising forensic detail. The maximum resolution is 3840×2160 per sensor.

The camera includes local edge storage via microSD card, remote focus and zoom capabilities, and built-in OptimizedIR for uniform IR illumination. The Axis Edge Vault secure cryptographic module is embedded for FIPS 140-2 Level 2-compliant secure key storage and boot protection. The device also supports signed firmware, secure boot, and Axis’s DLPU (deep learning processing unit), allowing edge-based analytics, including AXIS Object Analytics, for detection, tracking, classification, and counting of people and vehicles.

Security protocols include HTTPS, signed OS, and secure boot, enhancing resilience against unauthorised access. Audio support is available, and the unit is constructed using materials that are BFR/CFR and PVC-free.
