Brivo Unified Credential

♦ Brivo Unified Credential – Brivo has released its new Brivo Unified Credential, a new cross-platform smart credential compatible with select wireless locks and Brivo Smart Readers.

Many applications are typically equipped with a mix of installed locksets and proximity cards. The main issue with standard smart credentials is that every manufacturer has its own approach, meaning customers are forced to either replace all of their existing hardware with compatible devices, which can be expensive, or use proximity cards that aren’t encrypted and easy to duplicate.

Using the new credential, property managers can increase security with smartcards or fobs that work across select ASSA ABLOY wireless Aperio devices and Schlage locks, and Brivo readers using one credential.

“With this new credential we are simplifying and enhancing security while putting an end to unsecure proximity cards,” said Brivo CEO, Steve Van Till.

“Property managers and owners who demand the latest in access control can use Brivo Unified Credential when they also need the flexibility and convenience to leverage existing credentialed door locks and devices, without making any compromises when it comes to security.”

According to Devin Love of Allegion, customers are looking for flexibility and freedom of choice in their access control solutions.

“We are excited to put services like the power of Schlage Custom Encryption Key to work, delivering open and interoperable systems while keeping people and places safe and secure,” Love said.
