BST Upgrading Gallager Solution – BST Australia has been awarded a contract to deliver the Gallagher Security access control and alarm hardware upgrade for Adelaide University, as part of university’s ongoing merger program.
BST Australia has been appointed to deliver a major security upgrade for the newly merged Adelaide University, which brings together the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. The unified security platform will be based on Gallagher’s access control and intrusion detection system, providing a robust and scalable foundation that supports the operational needs of the merged institution.
The scope of the upgrade includes seamless integration of the 2 universities’ existing systems onto a single Gallagher platform, enabling centralised management of access control and security functions across all campuses.
According to BST Australia operations manager, David Rasmussen, the upgrade is designed to future-proof the university’s security infrastructure in line with its long-term strategic objectives.
“This project represents a significant investment in future-proofing the University’s security infrastructure,” Rasmussen said. “By leveraging Gallagher’s market-leading technology, BST will ensure the delivery of a robust, reliable, and scalable solution that supports the University’s long-term operational and security objectives.
“We are excited to have been entrusted with this major upgrade to seamlessly integrate The University of Adelaide and University of South Australia onto one common security and access control platform as part of the merger of the 2 Universities.”
The merger is a landmark undertaking for South Australia, with the state government committing between $A500 million and $650 million in funding by 2030. The goal is to create a globally competitive institution focused on producing highly employable graduates and engaging with priority industries.
