0

AUSTRALIA’S Bureau of Meteorology has gone to tender looking to expand every part of its cyber security engineering team – the BOM was subjected to a massive foreign cyber security attack several years ago and has been hardening through its ‘Robust’ cyber security programme ever since.

This tender is for multiple cybersecurity engineering roles with all experience levels sought to establish a diverse team. The specialist team will be working with Windows and Linux supporting core security platforms and technologies. POCs for new cyber operations capabilities are also required.

The Bureau will consider candidates at an indicative rate of $1320 per day (inc GST) for experienced staff. One or two junior staff (less than 2 years’ experience) will also be considered, at lower pay, as part of forming a diverse team with a range of backgrounds and specialities.

Successful candidates will be working in the Cyber Security Engineering team and will assist with the cyber security Uplift programme including but not limited to: Assess solution designs, review application configurations, and advise project teams, working to the ISM and security best practise.

They will also support delivery of projects associated with core corporate systems including identity and access management (IDAM), employee records management, security tooling and enterprise security systems, as well as handling review and evaluation of configuration of systems, including applications, firewalls and databases.

The BOM cyber security tender closes on March 21, 2019.
