Byron Shire Council Seeks Alarm Monitoring, Alarm Maintenance And Security Patrols.
Byron Shire Council Seeks Alarm Monitoring – Byron Shire Council has released a tender seeking providers to deliver alarm monitoring, alarm maintenance, alarm monitoring and security patrols across its council facilities on the Far North Coast of New South Wales.
Give the number of facilities involved, it’s likely the security solutions being supported are access control and alarm systems, as well as fire alarm systems, but there’s no information about this in the tender release. Of note, Byron Bay also has a comprehensive public surveillance system.
The contract scope spans council offices, community and cultural facilities, public amenities and event locations managed by the council across the shire. While council has not specified a total number of buildings, the services are sure to apply across a broad portfolio of council-owned and managed assets, including administrative sites, venues and selected public facilities.
Nightly security patrols form a core component of the contract, with patrol services required for selected buildings. The successful contractor will be responsible for alarm monitoring and maintenance across all council buildings fitted with security alarm systems and fire panels, requiring ongoing system oversight and response capability.
The scope also includes cash collection services at nominated sites, specifically council head office, resource recovery facilities and the Cavanbah Centre. These services introduce a higher-risk operational requirement, combining security transport, procedural compliance and coordination with council operations.
Static guarding is included on an as-required basis, supporting council meetings, events and unsecured buildings when requested. This element of the contract reflects the council’s need for flexible, short-notice security coverage in response to operational or community requirements.
In addition, the contract covers the nightly locking of a small number of public amenities which are secured each evening, with contracted cleaners responsible for reopening the facilities each morning.
This Byron Shire Council seeks alarm monitoring tender closes at 10am on February 19 – you can learn more here or read more SEN news here.
