MORETON Bay Regional Council is seeking the services of a suitably qualified contractor for the construction of CCTV, smart lighting and associated works along the Redcliffe Peninsula rail line pathway.

The 12.6km pathway stretches from Petrie Station to Kippa-Ring Station. Measuring 3m wide, it allows plenty of space for all types of users, accommodating prams, motorised scooters and wheelchairs, and exercise enthusiasts and sightseers of all kinds, including cyclists, joggers, skaters and pets. The pathway CCTV system will be integrated into Moreton Bay Regional Council’s security control room, which incorporates more than 800 fixed and PTZ CCTV cameras.

The path runs alongside the $A300 million Redcliffe Peninsula line, a stretch of heavy gauge dual-track railway between Petrie and Kippa-Ring on the Redcliffe peninsula. The new line is part of the QR Citytrain suburban network, branching from the Caboolture line, and has 6 stations: Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill, Mango Hill East (previously called Kinsellas Road), Rothwell and Kippa-Ring.

The tender closes on July 16.
