Dicker DAS Grows Sales 7.9 Per Cent To $A118.3 million.

Dicker DAS Grows Sales 7.9 Per Cent – Dicker Access & Surveillance has performed well in a challenging economy, lifting its annual sales 7.9 per cent in the 2024 financial year to $118.3 million.

Dicker DAS outperformed other Dicker business units as the combined operation grew revenue by 3 per cent to $A3.4 billion with gross profit up 2.7 per cent to $324 million and net profit after tax up $4.2 per cent to $78.7 million.

Across the Tasman, gross sales for NZ climbed 1.9 per cent to $NZ560.8 million, with pre-tax earnings up 13 per cent to $16.5 million – net profit grew strongly at 29.7 per cent to $5 million.

CEO David Dicker acknowledged the recent turbulence but reinforced the company’s commitment to regaining momentum after a solid Q4.

“We have been adversely affected by events completely out of our control,” Dicker said. “We may have been guilty of not adjusting as quickly as we should have, however, in 2025 we are focused on returning to solid growth in both sales and profits.”

Dicker added that the company would be making “aggressive changes” to meet its targets and reassured shareholders of his firm focus on achieving growth objectives.

During its FY24 results call recently, the company said it is actively exploring expansion opportunities beyond Australia and New Zealand, having already incorporated entities in Singapore and the Philippines. Dicker Data is currently in discussions with multiple vendors to establish increased presence in these markets.

Locally, economic conditions in FY24 remained challenging. High inflation and interest rates dampened consumer and business confidence, while Dicker Data’s small and mid-market segments cut back on transactional spending. To counteract this, the company shifted its focus towards enterprise accounts.

In signs of improving conditions, Dicker Data saw a 10 per cent increase in Q4 gross sales, reaching $949 million. This followed a first-half decline and modest Q3 growth, demonstrating a return to form. Profitability also improved in Q4, with pre-tax profit of $39.5 million reflecting a 21 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase.

“Our team performed exceptionally well in FY24, overcoming a wider market downturn to deliver top-line growth while keeping returns for our shareholders consistent,” said COO Vlad Mitnovetski.

“The strength of our Q4 performance highlights the anticipated improvement in overall market conditions – we have commenced 2025 with an optimistic outlook, especially as macroeconomic conditions improve and market initiatives accelerate, such as the uptake of artificial intelligence and the Windows 10 end-of-support opportunity.”

A point of interest for electronic security integrators and end users, Dicker Data said that AI-enabled PCs were selling at triple the rate of industry forecasts.
