DIT Seeks In-Vehicle Video and GPS Surveillance System In South Australia.
DIT Seeks In-Vehicle Video and GPS Surveillance System – South Australia’s Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) is seeking a supplier to deliver an in-vehicle surveillance solution that combines front and cabin-facing video capture with secure cloud storage and GPS location tracking.
The project is part of the South Australian Government’s Driver Training Reform initiative, which aims to strengthen safety and transparency across the driver training industry by addressing risks related to misconduct and inappropriate behaviour during licence assessments.
Under the request for tender, DIT requires the supply of camera hardware, associated peripherals, and a video management system (VMS) capable of recording, storing, and managing high-quality video and metadata from driver assessments. Suppliers can submit for the complete solution or for individual components, with purchase and lease options considered for hardware and outright purchase for the VMS.

The Department is seeking a solution that ensures compliance with data security requirements, enables centralised video management, and provides reliable retrieval of footage for audit and review purposes.
The system will be used by internal government officers conducting driving assessments. Key technical requirements include real-time GPS logging and the capacity to manage and validate recorded events securely.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport is responsible for strategic transport planning, infrastructure delivery, and the regulation of transport services in South Australia.
It oversees state road networks, public transport, freight and logistics, and marine and rail safety. DIT plays a key role in delivering infrastructure projects across the state and ensuring transport systems support safety, efficiency, and accessibility for the public.
