Council sought proposals for the provision of maintenance and support for the existing CCTV system on Brisbane City Council’s bus fleet mid-June and the contract win was announced October 31.

TransLink is the public transit agency for South East Queensland responsible for managing Brisbane’s bus fleet. TransLink is part of the Department of Transport and Main Roads and was first introduced by the Queensland Government in June 2003 to orchestrate bus, ferry, rail and light rail services.

DTI’s depot-based wireless infrastructure and comprehensive back-end CCTV management system centralises and coordinates bus CCTV data and allows video evidence to be recovered from the buses through an on-line automated CCTV booking system providing easy management of equipment, video retrieval and video storage.
