Evotek Technologies has won a contract to upgrade 100 of the University of Canterbury’s Gallagher 3000 controllers to version 6000, so as to allow the upgrade of its Gallagher Command Centre Software to release 8.3 and beyond.
The university went to tender seeking a preferred supplier for supply and install of new controllers across 79 buildings, as well as comprehensive maintenance of the access control system.
According to the original tender, the access control system is considered part of the university’s critical infrastructure, as it controls door access and scheduling, security alarms, duress alarms and walk-in freezer alarms providing protection against personal being trapped in such areas.
UC’s system is spread across approximately 79 Buildings and include 1282 access-controlled doors, 180 controller, 207 T20 readers and 385 T11 readers, with the system managed centrally by Gallagher Command Centre Software.
University of Canterbury said at the time it was imperative to have continuity, including the same technicians attending to carry out the work, so a relationship could be built, and robust working practices could be established.
Evotek provides consultation, integration and management of electronic security services and systems including access control, contact tracing, CCTV, alarm systems, automatic gates, nursecall, carparks, perimeter solutions, seismicearly warning systems and more.
