Hikvision Unveils Next-Gen Polymer Anti-Corrosion Cameras for Coastal and Industrial Sites.

Hikvision Unveils Next-Gen Polymer Anti-Corrosion Cameras, featuring reinforced polyamide housings to withstand harsh environmental conditions, from coastal sites and ports to chemical plants and food processing facilities.

The cameras are constructed of reinforced Polyamide, designed to withstand persistent salt, acid, and oxidising agents founding in marine and industrial installations. While stainless steel housings are traditionally used, they are heavy, expensive, and labour-intensive to install.

Hikvision’s polymer housings offer multiple advantages. The material resists corrosion without the need for coatings or treatments and delivers up to 90 per cent of aluminium’s strength at less than half its weight, supporting faster, safer installation. Production and maintenance costs are also reduced over the product lifecycle.

Hikvision’s salt spray testing showed the polymer retained over 90 per cent of performance after 1000 hours of exposure. Built-in window heaters prevent fogging from rapid temperature changes, a motorised lens wiper clears rain or contaminants, while PTZ models feature Hikvision Smart Pan Tilt Correction to automatically realign the camera after high wind or physical displacement.

The new series supports advanced imaging with built-in AI, including ColorVu and DarkFighter for full-colour low light capture, and AcuSense for accurate human and vehicle detection. Meanwhile, AcuSeek, powered by Hikvision’s Guanluan AI model, allows rapid retrieval of footage using natural language search.

Australian market models include the DS-2XC3386G0H-LISU-SL turret camera, an 8MP model with hybrid IR/white light and active deterrence, supporting Hikvision’s LiveGuard ecosystem, and the DS-2ST5C432MWG-EW-26 TandemVu PTZ, which combines a 6MP panoramic lens with a 4MP PTZ offering 32x optical zoom, a 150m IR range, and vertical coverage for complex sites.
