ICT Releases New TSL Readers – ICT has released its new TSL reader series, combining rugged performance, encrypted AES-256 communications and multiple authentication options.

ICT said TSL readers are built with ease of installation in mind, featuring quick-connect plugs and app-based configuration, significantly reducing setup times. They also support live firmware updates, ensuring the latest features and security measures remain current, without the need for physical updates.

Customizable aesthetics offer 3 sizes and 2 finishes, with optional integrated keypads, allowing installations to blend into their surroundings seamlessly. Configurable LED indicators, with 16 available colours, communicate door status or security alerts.

Credential compatibility is comprehensive, with support for multiple existing credential types, along with Bluetooth and NFC capabilities for mobile access via the Protege Mobile App. Advanced encryption is provided by an integrated Secure Access Module (SAM), further enhancing reader security.

The robust design features an IP65 rating against dust and water, ensuring durability in harsh outdoor environments. An optional vandal-resistant cover is available for locations needing additional protection against intentional damage – SEN thinks this cover gives the readers a great look.

ICT’s TSL readers offer flexibility in communication protocols, including RS-485 with AES-256 encryption, OSDP, and traditional Wiegand, ensuring compatibility across standard access control systems and allowing direct integration with Protege systems for real-time management.

Proximity cards and fobs compatible with TSL readers include both 125kHz and high-frequency options, with ICT recommending DESFire credentials for higher security applications.
