Kate Sobolewska has joined Gallagher as senior product manager, based at the company’s HQ in Hamilton, NZ, having previously worked in cloud software at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare.
According to Sobolewska, Gallagher’s emphasis on customer research attracted her to the company.
“Within Gallagher’s development teams, people have quite a lot of freedom,” said Sobolewska. “No micromanaging, no set agendas – just us with the authority to do what’s best for the customer – a big responsibility but really motivating and energising,” she says.
“I was impressed by the commitment from the leadership team to implement the change in product development and work culture. It’s quite unique for C-suite execs to willingly delegate the product decision making and truly empower their teams. It’s something that’s talked about, and many organisations claim they do it, but in reality, it never actually happens.”
