Makita DF001GZ 40V Max Li-ion XGT Cordless – Makita DF001GZ 40V Max Li-ion XGT cordless brushless driver drill is a 40V monster designed for continuous heavy-duty applications.

With a peak torque of 141Nm, this drill offers an increase in drilling speed compared to its 18V counterpart, making it suitable for demanding industrial tasks – drilling steel mounting holes, for instance.

Backing up the extra power, the Makita DF001GZ 40V Max supports large drilling capacities – up to a 152mm hole saw and a 50mm auger bit. To enhance safety, active feedback sensors are integrated to automatically shut down the tool in the event of kickback. An electronic clutch provides 41 torque settings, ensuring precise control across various applications.

Makita’s 40V Max platform is built with the latest battery technology and motor engineering, optimizing performance for industrial use. The XGT system employs smart technology, creating communication between the battery and the tool to increase efficiency.

The package includes a grip assembly, belt hook assembly, a bit holder, and a PH2-45 bit. It operates at a no-load speed of up to 2600 rpm in high mode and 650 rpm in low mode. The drill features a drilling capacity of 20mm in steel and up to 152mm in wood.

Measuring 181mm in length and weighing only 2kg as a skin, the Makita DF001GZ 40V Max is compact given its grunt. Makita Australia backs the drill with a 5-year warranty.

Powering the drill is the Makita BL4040 40V Max 4.0Ah Li-ion XGT cordless battery with a robust cell casing enhancing impact resistance, and a 3-layer moisture protection system that shields the battery from water ingress.

This battery incorporates a short circuit prevention structure that safeguards terminals from dust and moisture. A battery ventilation system maximizes lifespan, ensuring prolonged operational efficiency.

With a voltage of 40V Max and a capacity of 4.0Ah, the battery delivers 144Wh of energy, supporting extended use between charges. It weighs 1kg and can charge fully in 45 minutes using Makita’s rapid charging system. A 2-year warranty, covered by Makita, provides assurance of durability and performance.

Supporting the battery is the Makita DC40RA 40V Max XGT single port rapid charger designed for Makita’s 40V Max XGT batteries. With real-time data communication, the charger optimizes the charging process by adjusting to battery conditions and temperature. Dual cooling fans reduce charging time, ensuring that both the battery and charging circuit remain at optimal temperatures.

Capable of charging a BL4040 battery in 45 minutes and a BL4025 battery in 28 minutes, the charger weighs 1kg and is covered by a 2-year warranty. You can learn more from the folks at Sydney Tools here or read more SEN news here.
