Mike Metcalfe Gets Off His Bike With Irisity AI.
Mike Metcalfe Gets Off His Bike – According to Irisity’s Mike Metcalfe, the company’s 2 People on a Motorcycle AI algorithm is designed to deliver detection and quick response to a growing global threat involving hit and run robberies using bikes and scooters.
According to Metcalfe, Irisity’s sale director ANZ, the company’s AI algorithm effectively monitors and tracks ‘2 people on a Motorcycle’ across various linked camera systems, triggering real-time response.
Criminals use motorcycles to manoeuvre between city streets as it is a fast and easy transportation solution. The 2 People on a Motorcycle solution helps operators receive real time detection of live events that requires attention, since a motorcycle with 2 or more riders is significantly more likely to be involved in a crime.
“Irisity’s algorithm detects motorcycles with multiple riders, providing instant response for crimes such as credit card robbery, motorcycle theft, kidnapping and more,” explains Metcalfe.

“The solutions can also detect motorcycles and vehicles driving against traffic direction, as it is an existing feature in Irisity’s over-arching IRIS+ Platform.
“2 People on a Motorcycle is part of Irisity’s ‘Personalized AI’ offering, Metcalfe says. “Irisity has developed a custom-built attribute to the existing platform. The unique feature allows cameras to generate alarms to the operators when detecting a motorcycle with riders.
“The algorithm applies to both freeways as well as city streets with excellent results. In addition, the algorithm works perfectly in heavy traffic environments with outstanding outcomes.”
Irisity’s IRIS+ platform can be connected locally or remotely to offer cameras smart detection functions of events like intrusion, loitering, fire and smoke, slip and fall, rail trespassing, unattended objects, line crossing, traffic monitoring and anomalies.
