The detector combines dual PIR sensors with a Ka-band microwave sensor. Both PIR sensors must detect motion simultaneously before the device considers triggering an alarm. This dual-sensor requirement significantly reduces false alarms caused by environmental factors like animals, plants, or sudden temperature changes.
The Ka-band microwave sensor acts as an additional layer of verification. It confirms signals from the PIR sensors through a short-range radio-wave scan, distinguishing real threats from thermal interferences. Compared to traditional X-band sensors, Ka-band provides improved accuracy and lower energy consumption, extending battery life.
SmartDetect software continually analyses thermal patterns captured by the PIR sensors, evaluating factors such as temperature changes, size of thermal spots, movement speed, and duration. This sophisticated filtering method ensures reliable detection of human movement, even under challenging environmental conditions.
Temperature compensation software further enhances accuracy, automatically adjusting sensor data according to ambient temperature. This feature maintains reliable detection in temperatures ranging from -25C to 60C, avoiding false alarms when the external temperature is close to human body heat.
