New Goulburn River Solar Farm Seeks CCTV, Security – CCTV, security fencing and security services are being sought for the new Goulburn River Solar Farm.
Goulburn River Solar Farm is a 585MWp renewable energy project currently under construction in the Upper Hunter Region of NSW. The solar farm, developed by Lightsource and delivered by EPC contractor DT Infrastructure, will feed solar energy into the national grid, supported by a large-scale battery storage system.
The project is located between Wollar and Merriwa and received development consent from the NSW Government in August 2024, followed by federal environmental approval in October 2024. Construction commenced in late 2024 and is expected to span 27 months, supporting around 350 jobs during the peak phase.
Tenders released for security and surveillance elements include CCTV camera supply and installation, CCTV and lighting pole works, site security services, and permanent security fencing. These works are scheduled to close between June and September 2025, with additional tenders also covering civil trenching and the construction of operations and maintenance facilities.
Lightsource’s inclusion of a large battery energy storage system (BESS) on site will allow solar energy to be stored and dispatched during peak demand periods, supporting grid stability. The project also includes staff amenities and accommodation to support ongoing operations and maintenance – all of this will ultimately demand an integrated security solution.
