New Optex REDSCAN Lite RLS-1010L LiDAR Sensor – Optex has released the REDSCAN Lite RLS-1010L, a compact short-range indoor LiDAR sensor designed to provide high-precision intrusion detection in tight, high-security indoor environments.

The sensor uses 2D time-of-flight laser scanning to monitor a detection zone measuring 10 x 10 metres with a 95-degree field of view. Typical use cases include data centre rack protection, monitoring of skylights, glass partitions, inventory shelving, and retail display units.

Detection is achieved in as little as 100 milliseconds and not impacted by variations in ambient light or temperature, including total darkness. The sensor can be mounted horizontally to protect skylights or ceilings or vertically to protect doors, walls, and confined access zones. It supports wall, ceiling, and bracket mounting using an A-directional mounting plate compatible with junction boxes and tight spaces.

The sensor supports either PoE or 10.5–30V DC power input. Setup can be completed without a PC using the optional RLS-LAT laser alignment tool. A simplified web interface allows parameter adjustments and performance tuning, while external LED indicators provide at-a-glance status during setup and operation.

REDSCAN Lite includes automatic area learning to prevent overspill near mesh fencing or barriers. Its real-time detection history log assists in calibration and system refinement. Tool free ±3-degree angle adjustment is supported via manual side knobs, and a variety of accessories, including mounting brackets, a laser window, and a laser area checker, are available.

The RLS-1010L is TAA and NDAA compliant and manufactured in Japan. With compact form factor, high speed and precision, and a simplified installation process, the unit is suited to enterprise, government and critical infrastructure applications requiring reliable, real-time intrusion detection in constrained indoor environments.
