New Pelco Sarix Professional 5MP Bullet Camera – Pelco’s new SRXP4-5V40-EBT-IR is a 5MP outdoor bullet IP camera in the Sarix Professional 4 Series, designed for applications requiring solid resolution, IR support, big reach, and super tough environmental and cybersecurity protection.
This model delivers 5MP resolution at 2560 x 1944 pixels and supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG compression. The camera features a 4.8–40.8mm motorised varifocal lens, offering remote zoom and autofocus, along with integrated IR illumination rated to 80 metres – it’s a focal range that covers a lot of territory in large external applications.
The sensor is a 1/2.8-inch CMOS Pelco says is capable of true wide dynamic range (up to 130dB), and the unit achieves 0.02 lux in colour and 0.01 lux in monochrome. Minimum illumination drops to 0 lux with IR enabled. The bullet housing is aluminium, IP66/67 and Type 4X rated with IK10 impact protection.
Other features include corridor mode, ONVIF S/G/T/M compliance, idle scene detection, VMD analytics, up to 64 privacy zones, and support for Pelco Smart Compression. Storage is available via onboard microSD card (up to 1TB). The unit includes external I/O for alarms, 802.1x authentication, and Secure Boot with TPM hardware. Power is supplied via PoE Class 3 or 12VDC with maximum draw of 13W.
According to Pelco, the SRXP4-5V40-EBT-IR is suitable for external applications in high-security or industrial environments where detailed scene capture, extended IR range, and remote configuration are required. The specifications underscore that brief in SEN’s opinion – this is nice work from Pelco.
