Old Parliament House Security CCTV and Access Control Upgrade – Old Parliament House has announced its intention to release a tender for the upgrade and ongoing maintenance of its CCTV, alarm and access control systems.

Scheduled for release on March 31, 2026, the tender will seek expressions of interest from qualified vendors capable of modernising and supporting the site’s integrated electronic security infrastructure. The procurement will cover both system upgrades and maintenance services, indicating a long-term requirement for technical support alongside project delivery.

Old Parliament House in Canberra, which served as the home of the Australian Parliament from 1927 until 1988. The building now functions as the Museum of Australian Democracy. The site comprises more than 20,000 square metres of floor space, with hundreds of rooms and corridors across 2 primary levels and extensive public exhibition and event areas. The heritage-listed structure has high security, safety, and conservation requirements.

While specific scope details are yet to be released, the tender is expected to include the replacement or enhancement of legacy surveillance and security systems, as well as systems integration.
