Parliamentary Services Seeks Secure Radio Communications – Department of Parliamentary Services has released a tender seeking an upgrade of secure radio communications at Parliament House in Canberra.
The project covers the replacement of end-of-life Tait radio base stations and the Frequentis security communications system, with full supply, installation, integration and support requirements.
The upgraded platform must support secure 2-way communication between the Parliamentary Security Operations Rooms, the Emergency Control Centre and distributed endpoints including radios, intercoms and telephones. The system must handle individual and conference calling and deliver evidentiary-grade recording of all communications, including metadata such as caller identification and searchable event logs.
The contract scope extends to configuration, testing, hardware repairs, provision of spare parts and ongoing software and hardware updates. Long-term vendor support is a core requirement due to the operational nature of parliamentary security systems.
