Pelco takes multi-channel approach in Australia

ACCORDING to Pelco Australia’s Terry Yallouris, the big American CCTV maker is now taking a multi-channel, multi-level approach to market, with 2 new distributors joining Pacific Communications as suppliers of the coveted product line. “Pacific Communications remains our premier distributor in Australia with Anixter and Q Video Systems also distributing Pelco equipment,” Yallouris explains. “The move is part of a push to broaden the penetration of Pelco’s product range across the Australian market and to achieve this we’ve tiered our distributors and are taking a multi-layered approach.” According to Yallouris, the new distribution model will provide a perfect platform for Pelco’s existing range as well as helping to support a range of new products hitting the market in the next few months, including the Spectra IV Horizon PTZ and new DVRs. The current heavy hitter for Pelco is Endura, a networked video offering that can do no wrong. Endura has traded on Pelco’s high respected name and a stack of market leading specifications to take the Australian market by storm over the last 6 months, with standout wins including the City of Gosford and City of Sydney’s street surveillance systems. “While Endura is the talk of the town at the moment, we’ve got a lot of other products that highlight Pelco’s dedicated approach to the CCTV market available,” Yallouris explains. “Everyone who has had anything to do with Pelco knows the company’s approach to market is unique – our products are built for people in this industry. “Next year we’ll be rolling out a whole range of beautiful new equipment – 2008 is going to be a big year for Pelco and its distributors.”
