Perimeter Systems Showing Sintela At SAGE – Perimeter Systems Australia will be bringing the latest Sintela ONYX fibre-optic perimeter protection technology to SAGE at the Realm Hotel in Canberra November 21.
A standout in the range is Sintela’s ONYX system, which transforms existing telecommunications fibre-optic cables into a customisable vibration detection and ranging system. The system leverages quantitative data to accurately classify and geolocate moving objects, ensuring precise security coverage.
Sintela systems feature multiple units capable of covering distances from 10km up to 130km. These units are adaptable, with fibre deployment options that include in-ground, on-fence, or wall-mounted configurations. A single unit can support multiple fibre deployments, such as a combination of buried and fence-mounted sensors, offering both fixed and virtual fence capabilities.

“Ease of installation is a key advantage of the ONYX system,” said Perimeter System’s Charlie Michael. “Its automated installation process simplifies setup, commissioning, and testing, allowing for a seamless implementation. Moreover, all sensing parameters, such as pulse width and sample rate, are software-defined, enabling quick adjustments to optimise performance for any specific deployment“.

This provides full remote access to all functions, including engineering setup, diagnostics, data visualisation, processing, and alert notifications.
