PMT Security Partners with DroneShield – Security integrator, PMT Security, has partnered with DroneShield to integrate counter-drone technology to customers across government, corrections, critical infrastructure, and commercial sectors.
According to PMT’s CEO, Adrian Smith, the agreement strengthens PMT’s layered defence capabilities by incorporating drone detection and mitigation systems alongside existing electronic security and communications infrastructure.
“The partnership reflects growing demand for counter-UAS technology, driven by incidents involving drone-based contraband delivery to correctional facilities and increased risk of aerial surveillance or interference at sensitive sites,” Smith said.
According to Smith, drones represent one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving threats facing PMT’s customers.
“Drone incursions represent one of the most dynamic and fast-evolving threats facing our clients,” Smith said. “By partnering with DroneShield, we can ensure government agencies and critical infrastructure operators have access to the most advanced and proven counter-drone systems available. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, integrated security solutions that keep Australians safe.”

DroneShield’s detection and mitigation systems incorporate radiofrequency, radar, acoustic, and optical sensors, with artificial intelligence classification and escalation. These systems will be integrated with PMT Security’s access control, perimeter protection, and analytics platforms to deliver unified threat management outcomes tailored to the needs of defence bases, correctional centres, airports, ports, and utilities.
The collaboration comes amid rising regulatory and operational pressure on site operators to proactively manage drone threats. Government agencies and infrastructure managers are increasingly adopting counter-UAS solutions in line with changing aviation and security policy.
“Critical infrastructure and high-risk facilities are at the frontline of Australia’s resilience,” Smith said. “By combining PMT Security’s national footprint and expertise with DroneShield’s cutting-edge technology, we are setting a new standard for how organisations can safeguard their people, assets, and operations against tomorrow’s threats.”
