Quarantine Hotel Breaches: Security Teams May Be Innocent

Security teams fingered as the cause of Victoria’s quarantine hotel COVID outbreak may have played no part in spreading the virus.

New reports published in The Age suggest quarantine patient zero was a night duty manager who contracted the virus from a traveller isolating in one of the hotels.

The finding underscores COVID’s extreme infectiousness – in some outbreaks globally a single person has infected as many as 50 people, often at a single event, usually during the innocuous and natural process of close conversation.
