QUEENSLAND’S $A46.7 million Counter Terrorism and Community Safety Centre currently under construction and due for completion in 2020, has gone to tender seeking security and CCTV systems and maintenance.
The Counter Terrorism and Community Safety Centre is being built on the 140-hectare Westgate Police Complex at Wacol, Brisbane, for the Queensland Police Service.
The new training facility will include indoor firearms ranges, a scenario village, a simunition training facility and specialist training areas to increase capability in managing terrorism and other critical incidents.
The project team of which GHD is principal consultant, is engaging with key stakeholders during planning and construction to ensure the Counter Terrorism and Community Safety Centre meets the needs of the Queensland Police Service in addressing counter-terrorism and public safety now and into the future.
The tender for security installations and maintenance at the Counter Terrorism and Community Safety Centre closes on August 31, 2018.
