Queensland Cultural Centre Seeks Hostile Vehicle Mitigation – Arts Australia on behalf of Queensland Cultural Centre is looking for a head contractor to landscaping, including undertake hostile vehicle mitigation works.
The State of Queensland represented by the Department of Education acting through Arts Queensland is seeking tenders from PQC eligible tenderers (minimum PQC Level 3) to undertake works within the external precinct of the Queensland Cultural Centre.
Arts Queensland intends to appoint a head contractor in the role of principal contractor who will be responsible for sourcing, engaging, and managing all the appropriate and required industry/trade specialised sub-contractors to complete the works.
Protecting public space from attacks using vehicles is challenging. In the first instance, the threat is real. There have been multiple attacks around the world – the UK, France, Germany, the United States, Australia and across the Middle East.
In some attacks, cars or vans have been used but in others, heavy vehicles have devastated crowded spaces. In Australia, the response to these and other threats and has been implementation of the Strategy For Protecting Crowded Places.
