RAAF Laverton Security Repairs and Maintenance Tender Released.
RAAF Base Williams Point Coook at Laverton is approximately 23 km west of Melbourne CBD and covers 148 hectares.
The base was established to support the greater rate of flying and maintenance activities after the formation of the RAAF in 1921, but it has reduced in size and its role has changed from a front-line air base over the years.
The scope of works of this project involves a range of security and electronic management improvements throughout the RAAF Laverton site. The works involve site-wide video surveillance and electronic access control upgrades, building management system (BMS) upgrades, and fencing installation.
RAAF elements based at Williams include 8/7 Royal Victorian Regiment (Army Reserve), Air Force Band, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Chief Information Officer Group, Defence Force School of Languages, Defence International Training Centre, Defence Publishing Services, Security and Estate Group, Headquarters Air Force Training Group, Joint Logistics Command and Joint Logistics Unit – Victoria.
