Rugged ICT Protege Vandal Resistant VoIP Intercom Hardened For Exposed, High-Risk Environments.

Rugged ICT Protege Vandal Resistant VoIP Intercom – ICT’s Protege vandal-resistant VoIP intercom, a hardened entry communication device designed for exposed and high-risk environments requiring remote audio communication and door or device control.

This tough intercom supports VoIP communication using SIP 2.0 and is designed to connect with VoIP-enabled devices, including smartphones, allowing calls from the intercom to be received and managed remotely, giving operators or users the ability to grant entry from off-site when required.

The unit combines vandal resistant construction with an IP65 environmental rating and an operating temperature range of -40C to 70C. There is an IK rating in the specification sheet that we can see, but ICT says the intercom is intended for applications where equipment may be exposed to weather, rough treatment or attempted interference.

Audio functions include full duplex speakerphone operation with acoustic echo cancellation, adjustable volume control, an omnidirectional microphone and a 2.5W audio amplifier. Codec support includes G.729, G.723, G.711, G.722 and G.726, while RTP and SRTP protocols support audio transmission. The unit also includes noise reducing functionality intended to suppress unwanted background noise during calls.

The intercom supports programmable auto-answer and can also operate in standalone mode, allowing deployment where integration with a wider system is not always required. There are 2 short circuit inputs and 2 Form C relay outputs to support control of external devices, including doors, gates or lighting. A recording output is also provided via 3.5mm terminal block.

Power can be supplied via 12VDC or Power over Ethernet using IEEE 802.3af Class 3. Network connectivity is provided through 10/100BASE-TX WAN and LAN ports with Auto-MDIX over CAT5 or better cabling.

At 195 x 120 x 39mm and weighing 960g net, the Protege vandal resistant VoIP intercom is designed as a compact field device combining audio communication, remote control and environmental resilience in a single housing.
