Saab Seeks Security System Engineers

♦ Saab seeks security systems engineer  –  Security integrator and system developer, Saab Australia is seeking full-time security systems engineers to take on a role within Saab’s Civil Solutions Division.

Based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane, the successful candidate will be involved in the design, build, test and validation of security solutions in a desktop and lab environment, as well as analysis of trade drawings (i.e. architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil) in order to identify potential design and installation problems.

You will perform various engineering and implementation tasks such as site surveys, including prototype testing and initial mock up, as well as generating various calculations; including but not limited to power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing and bandwidth, as well as developing and validating drawing packages to ensure conformity to requirements, and research optimal equipment/systems to be included in proposals. .

Other responsibilities include identifying and resolving field device and system application and interoperability issues, participating in engineering peer reviews for quality control and quality assurance, and liaison with vendors to increase knowledge of the latest security solutions.

You will also produce concept, preliminary and detailed security designs in conjunction with consultants and other stakeholders, review and interpret construction documents, wiring and schematic diagrams and schedules, provide technical design support for sales and field personnel and diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

You will participate in field audits of installed systems, create as-built documentation off field mark-up drawings, assessment of customer site for installation requirements, installation design, assist with definition of scope and planning/scheduling of project execution and estimate, plan and proactively status progress on allocated work, and contribute to and coordinate with others to ensure the successful delivery.

Skills and Experience

* ICT Networking design certifications and implementation of physical networks * Firewall and ACL experience and implementation * Design of layer 2 and layer 3 networks * Multi case routing across layer 3 network * Design, implementation and testing of network redundancy * Network security and authentication including clearpass * Design of physical network routing * Experienced in fault finding, diagnosing and rectification

* Understand complex technical issues and managing them within a fast-paced business environment with deadlines * Ability to write clear and precise technical reports. * Ability to undertake high level requirements derivation, system design and implementation * Working knowledge of structural and/or mechanical system and designs. * Review and interpret specifications, drawings and estimates * Strong time management and organisational skills.

Educational Qualifications

* Professional Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
