SECURECORP has a won a contract valued at more than $A800,000 to provide CCTV monitoring for Logan City Council in Queensland.
Council sought submissions from tenderers which demonstrate a high level of innovation and expertise in the delivery of public safety CCTV monitoring for the Logan Safety Camera Program, which is designed to enhance community safety and involves 24/7 real-time monitoring, recording and reporting services by trained and qualified operators from a dedicated, secure monitoring room.
Logan City Council’s Logan Safety Camera Program is a serious operation revolving around a $A1.3 million control room opened in 2015 and monitoring more than 300 cameras, most being HD PTZs. It’s also one of Australia’s pioneering public safety solutions, with a history dating back to 2001.
Late last year, Logan City Council was awarded Federal Government funding to increase CCTV coverage in parks throughout the City of Logan for 23 new safety cameras under a $950,000 grant as part from the Safer Communities Fund – Round 2. Installation of the new cameras will be completed by December 2019.
There are strict policies, standing orders and operating procedures to ensure integrity, confidentiality and the privacy of the community at all times. Council works in close partnership with the Queensland Police Service – Logan District, including the provision of a live and dedicated link from the Logan Safety Camera Program monitoring room to certain police stations across the City of Logan.
In 2005, Logan was the first Council in Queensland to formally partner with Queensland Rail in the provision of monitoring services for Queensland Rail owned and operated security cameras at railway stations in Logan City. Council currently has a monitoring agreement with Queensland Rail for over 120 security cameras at Logan City railway stations.
