secVision Secures Musson Jewellers Grand Boutique And Workshop At Sydney’s QVB.

secVision Secures Musson Jewellers – secVision Networks has delivered a fully integrated electronic security system for Musson Jewellers’ new Grand Boutique and Workshop in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building.

According to secVision’s Ryan McGovern, the integration extends a relationship that has spanned more than a decade.

“The project centred on protecting high-value assets within one of Australia’s most significant heritage retail environments, without compromising the visual refinement expected of a luxury jeweller,” McGovern said.

“Musson relocated in early 2025 to a larger Level 1 tenancy within the QVB, creating a combined boutique and workshop space defined by natural light, heritage detailing and bespoke finishes. The brief required a security solution capable of supporting a growing operation while remaining visually discreet and fully compliant with strict heritage controls governing the building.”

McGovern said the project demanded a careful balance between performance and restraint.

“We were entrusted to deliver an electronic security system that protects extremely high-value assets while remaining practically invisible,’ he explained. “In a heritage building like the QVB, there is no tolerance for compromise on aesthetics or compliance.”

Working closely with Calida Projects and Musson’s management team, secVision Networks designed the system around the constraints of the building fabric. Cabling routes were mapped through existing cavities and voids to avoid intrusive works, while any unavoidable surface pathways were concealed within finishes. Camera locations were selected to provide full coverage of retail and workshop areas while remaining unobtrusive within architectural features and joinery.

The security design integrated access control, intruder detection and video verification into a single operational framework, supported by 24/7 monitoring. Live audio challenge was incorporated as part of the response strategy, adding an additional layer of deterrence and verification appropriate to a luxury retail environment. A master key system was also developed to align physical keying with electronic permissions, supporting layered security across staff, workshop and retail zones.

McGovern said coordination and planning were critical to the outcome.

“We worked hard to design a system that was technically advanced but practically invisible,” he said. “That level of precision is exactly what a client like Musson requires, especially in a space where craftsmanship and presentation are central to the customer experience.”

The Musson Grand Boutique and Workshop opened in October 2025. The completed security system operates quietly beneath the refined finishes, delivering comprehensive protection while allowing the space to function as intended for both clients and artisans.
