WE’VE looked at what was new in 2017 – but what new products, solutions and technologies can we expect in the new year? If what manufacturers and distributors are telling us is anything to go by, there’s plenty to look forward to.
CRK will be releasing the Uniview Navigator PTZ camera in February 2018 – it features a 1/2.9-inch progressive scan, 2MP CMOS sensor, a 5.2-114.4mm (22x) optical zoom lens with automatic focusing 30ips at 1920 x 1080p, audio and alarm I/Os, a strong temperature range of -40 to 65C, 16W power consumption across PoE or 12V DC, compact dimensions, a weight of 3kg and a very competitive price of $A650 excluding GST.
EOS reports that Hanwha Techwin will release its complete range of WISENET X cameras, including the recess-mount dome, compact PTZ, and optical zoom models in 2018. EOS will also launch WISENET T series early 2018, which is a specialised range for a specific market such as Oil & Gas, Transportation. Finally, Panasonic will launch their first IP Intercom range in Q1 2018.
In 2018, Bosch will continue to focus on its philosophy to ‘Rethink Video Security’ by adding further intelligence to its camera range – the I-series cameras launched in Q4, 2017 will be expanded to include the much-anticipated MIC IP fusion 9000i, integrating thermal to provide a dual sensor camera that provides imaging and intelligence in Bosch’s excellent ruggedized housing.
Risco will release its Outdoor Beyond Detector in 2018 – the product is being shipped to now and will be available in Q1. There will also be a new range of IP Vupoint P2P camera with POE for visual verification. Risco’s Peter Mellino says the most important release for Risco in 2018 will be the company’s new version of the cloud, focusing on value-added services for installers, such as geographical site maps and best service routes.
SCSI also has a bunch of new things coming up in 2018, according to Chad Wright. They include the release of the new DirectWireless DTU4G/IP dual-SIM alarm communicator, new DirectWireless system integrations and online platforms, the official release of the Almond 3S Smart Wi-Fi cellular router + security including professional monitoring. DirectConnect has been upgraded with dual network VPN access + M2M low data SIM plans and Internet services, which will be launched in January. Bold’s new ManitouNeo automation software will also be released and SCSI will be launching its services into New Zealand – and there’s more, says Wright.
BGW Technologies Robert Meachem says that in 2018 BGWT will add additional talented staff, complete upgrades to its website and intensity its focus on training dealers.
When it comes to intrusion, BGWT will release the Qolsys IQ-2, touch screen, residential/small commercial alarm panel with 3G cellular, dual-band Wi-Fi, encrypted RF wireless, Z-wave plus, Bluetooth LE.4.0 and image sensor. Also keep an eye open for DSC iotega, a revolutionary new alarm/home automation/interactive system that Meachem says will set the scene for a new wave of security and entry level smart homes.
On the CCTV side, Meachem says all BGWT’s key partners, including Pelco, Panasonic and Milestone, have big plans for product releases and enhancements and all BGWT’s suppliers will be focused on cyber security, advanced analytics and integration enhancements.
“When it comes to access control, BGWT will be continuing to drive S2 Security’s brilliant IP security platform, which in 2018 will gain further momentum through certified dealer expansion, dealer training as well as furthering its open development of Magic Monitor and integration to other platforms,” Meachem says.
Meanwhile, LSC Security Supplies reports the team is looking forward to bringing a fully wireless control panel from Italian manufacturer, AMC Alarms, to Australian shores in early 2018. The XR900 battery-operated control panel features a built-in keypad, wireless receiver and requires no wiring. Compatible with existing AMC wireless peripherals, this new wireless control panel is sure to prove popular with those looking for quick and easy installation, says LSC.
Hikvision will release its new 4K Darkfighter with H.265 codec and improved IR, as well as the Ultra-Smart – Deep Learning Series. Also coming are Hikvision’s DeepInView Cameras and DeepInMind NVRs with smart features including facial recognition, fall down detection, loitering detection, lining up detection, people counting, object detection, human body search, IP cameras, NVR VMS and a professional Video Management System compatible with entire line of Hikvision products, supporting smart analytics including people counting, heat mapping, ANPR, ONVIF-Supported with open SDK available. There will also be a new Hikvision hybrid SAN, which creates a network with access to data storage nodes, and integrates Hikvision’s direct-streaming storage technology, and at the same time supports IPSAN mode to work with 3rd party VMS.
Axis will release the P1368-E network camera, an external 4K surveillance camera with i-CS lens and Zipstream, the Axis Q8742-E bi-spectral PTZ, with VGA thermal and optical cameras. The thermal camera offers 640 x 480 picels of resolution for reliable detection and verification around-the-clock and in all weather and light conditions. And there’s an exceptionally light-sensitive visual camera in HDTV 1080p with integrated 30x optical zoom for identification purposes. The visual camera also has wide dynamic range – Axis’ Forensic Capture for clarity and detail in scenes with both dark and light areas, and focus recall for instant focus in areas you define.
Dahua is releasing the DB-10 Wi-Di battery powered doorbell, Dahua open platform, Dahua’s new HDCVI-PoC technology camera range, a collaboration with JVSG to Optimize Surveillance System Layout for Dahua customers, smart locks and plenty more.
Wayne Trethowan reports that in early 2018, CSM will be releasing the new Vesta professional wireless home security/automation platform that allows users to monitor and manage their homes remotely with a smart device and the internet.
“These Zigbee wireless systems are more than just your regular security alarm system, they use quality motion sensors with built-in colour cameras to detect intruders as well as managing a whole range of home automation devices,” Trethowan says.
“Vesta systems connect to your internet and turns your smart devices into a control centre, which allows users to control a system via the Vesta Portal app, in the palm of their hand. The Vesta Portal app also allows users to remotely arm and disarm their system, take snapshots, check the status of detectors, as well as viewing a history of events, and managing a broad range of home automation devices including lighting control and thermostats.”
CSM’s TVT CCTV family is also growing and in early 2018 CSM will release one of the smallest network PTZ speed domes in the world, the TD-9637E2, with features like 3MP (2048 × 1536) resolution @25fps with real-time streaming output, H.265 video compression and 16x optical zoom. The little PTZ has 50m IR range, IP66 ingress protection, TVS 6KV lightning protection, a compact 4-inch housing and a wall-mount bracket.
