SOUTH Canterbury District Health Board is seeking an integrated IP-based CCTV system to replace the existing hybrid analogue and IP CCTV system at the campus at Timaru Hospital and Talbot Park – these sites are network-linked.

“The solution will include all components such as server, software and cameras, etc,” says Timaru Hospital’s, Jayne Ladbrook. “The only component out of scope is any cabling requirement and improved lighting, if necessary. These will be undertaken by local contractors – we also need ongoing support.

“We are looking for a product with strong functionality, a good range of cameras and innovative modules (eg, analytics). We are seeking a product which is continually improving with new features and modules without the need to replace cameras. We will be wanting to deal with a company which has numerous customers of different sizes with Health not being a prerequisite. You would also need to have a good ongoing support track record.

“This is an opportunity for you to have a significant impact on the safety of the patients, staff and visitors as SCDHB,” said Labrook. “The existing system has very few features in accomplishing this and the features of a modern IP-based system will help protect people and locate wandering patients. A successful implementation at SCDHB would provide a valuable reference site for your company.”

Timaru Hospital is currently in the process of upgrading its emergency department seeking a modern and fresh look, South Canterbury District Health Board (SCDHB) maintenance and facility manager Simon Johnston says.

Tenderers should contact Jayne Ladbrook on jayne.ladbrook@southerndhb.govt.nz by July 16.
