WAPOL Seeks CCTV Refurbishment For Cockburn Central – WA Department of Housing and Works has released a tender seeking the refurbishment of the CCTV security system at the Western Australia Police Force’s Cockburn Central Police Station.
Cockburn Central is a modern 2250 square metre facility designed to accommodate up to 200 officers that forms part of a broader program of police infrastructure investment in WA, with the state government allocating 116m for new and refurbished stations since 2013.
The Cockburn site includes short-term custodial facilities, a detainee processing area, 2 cells, interview rooms, and operational amenities, including a gym and support spaces for officers.
This tender calls for a complete CCTV system refurbishment and it’s likely the system will be required to deliver ensure reliable CCTV coverage across custody, detainee management, public-facing areas and operational zones.
Like other contemporary policing environments, Cockburn Central relies on CCTV for evidentiary recording, monitoring of high-risk spaces, and situational awareness for frontline staff – that means cameras installed front of house and externally.
