What To See At SAGE 2024 – Security & Government Expo, sponsored by Gallagher and held in partnership with ASIS ACT, is the last big event of the year, as well as the biggest government security event on the ANZ calendar.

AI is a rapidly building trend in the electronic security industry, where it is more efficient and more capable in operations. Something that caught our eye in the lead up to the event is the SmartAIConnect Responsible AI Framework.
Its SmartAI Gateway provides secure AI application management, allowing users to monitor, remove unauthorised applications, and control data distribution within a network or to approved cloud destinations—all managed centrally via the SmartAI portal with its library of vetted AI applications.
With the SmartAIConnect Responsible AI Framework, managers can create AI projects tailored to an organisation’s needs, selecting specific cameras, AI models, and data destinations. Another solid product to check out on the LSC stand is the SCEC-approved S&G 2740B, an electromechanical lock built by Sargent and Greenleaf. A product I’m personally looking forward to checking out is Ezi Security’s Husson H-Stop barrier, which is proven to stop a 3500 kg vehicle at 48 km/h with a single 1200 mm unit, meeting the highest international standards – the unit is wheel as weighs around 170 kg, which is amazing when you consider its abilities to resist hostile vehicle attacks.
Husson H-Stop barrier is engineered for quick deployment and single-person operation and it’s the only certified single 1200 mm HVM barrier on the market. Key features include single-person setup, equipped with pneumatic tires for stability on uneven surfaces, ensuring durability across various terrain.

Jack Fuse is bringing the Jack Fuse Electronic Break Glass (EBG) unit to SAGE. This device offering remote and automatic reset capabilities, ending the need for manual glass-break reset of emergency doors.
The new reset modes, combined with audible and visual feedback, substantially enhance security by reducing the time doors are left unlocked unnecessarily, as well as discouraging nuisance activations.
Jack Fuse Electronic Break Glass (EBG)
Automatic reset takes away the hassle of manually resetting an activated break glass – instead the electronic break glass performs a reset on its own when a card is used, when an exit button is pushed or even on change of access schedule.
Reset can be facilitated by a remote button, key switch or access control system output and may be configured for individual EBG units or grouped to reset multiple units at once. Neat, too, the Jack Fuse EBG features the same footprint and mounting pattern as popular legacy manual break glass units.
Existing lock power cables are used for automatic reset mode, making upgrades and retrofitting a breeze and a built-in tamper switch monitors both the case and base for removal. The tamper output can be combined with EBG activation monitoring or used separately as a dedicated alarm.

Security distributor LSC is bringing quite a few neat solutions to SAGE this year, including the Australian-owned brand Enforcer Systems fog cannon. There’s ultra-secure storage of cryptographic keys on certified secure element hardware, plus a new surface detection feature that allows the reader to automatically recalibrate and optimise read range performance. All readers include out-of-the-box support for Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure bidirectional communication. Each reader is also designed to be connected and managed remotely without “sneakernet” or the need to be physically touched.

CRK Security
CRK has a wide range of clever solutions in its portfolio, some of which you’ll see this Thursday. These include ANZU Raptor and RaptorT model drones come equipped with an RTK module and charging hub, ensuring competitive pricing with added features.
ANZU Robotics is a U.S. based company that licenses drone technology from DJI. Its drones meet U.S. regulatory standards and are fully compliant with the NDAA (National Defence Authorisation Act). Most components are manufactured in Malaysia, assembled in Malaysia, then sent to ANZU’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, for firmware installation and a final quality review.
Also on the CRK stand will be Reveal body cameras, with a front-facing screen and an articulated camera head designed to capture court admissible evidence, de-escalate tense situations, and ensure complete transparency.
The K7 Camera features a touchscreen interface, live annotations, onboard intelligence, dual microphones, 14-hour battery life, ultra-low light capabilities, Bluetooth triggers and GPS, and streaming via Wi-Fi or 3G/4G.
Made in Germany with a focus on long-term partnerships, Dallmeier’s Panomera cameras reduce the number of units needed, providing higher coverage at a lower cost. All Dallmeier cameras are ISO 27001, NDAA-compliant, and EU-GDPR certified.
Also on show will be products from Unitree Robotics, the first company to retail high-performance quadruped robots. Also keep an eye out for the Digital Watchdog range. DW is an industry leader in digital recorders, surveillance cameras, and NDAA-compliant management software. DW is committed to maintaining strict NDAA Section 889 compliance and does not work with vendors found in violation of the NDAA.
XProtect platform
Milestone will be showing the R2 2024 update to its XProtect platform. This release introduces XProtect Remote Manager, a cloud-connected service that enhances the value of Care Plus subscriptions. The update also includes improvements to the user experience and expanded language support.
The company is also introducing XProtect Remote Manager, a cloud-connected service that allows XProtect administrators to monitor the health and status of distributed XProtect installations in one view from anywhere through a browser.
XProtect Remote Manager enables administrators to view real-time health status of devices and servers across multiple sites, manage basic camera settings remotely, grant or revoke reseller access to customer sites.
There’s also a new layout for video grids in mobile clients for tablets, optimising space usage and enhancing visibility. Additionally, Milestone has overhauled its XProtect 360 Split View plugin, improving video loading speed, reducing memory consumption, and enhancing overall stability for users working with 360-degree cameras.

ASIS will again be conducting its very popular Protective Security Training modules this year, with training focusing on security of government organisations and their facilities. Session topics including security risk management, technical security; managing foreign ownership, control, or influence risks; a review of Australia’s Protective Security Policy Framework and managing insider threats.
