THE Wheatstone LNG Plant has gone to tender seeking perimeter 12km of security fencing and 19 gates.
According to Wheatstone, management is developing a potential bidder list for permanent fencing service to be provided by a single company.
The subcontractor will be required to provide all materials, labour, tools, equipment, surveying services, supervision, consumables and temporary facilities required to install the permanent Wheatstone LNG perimeter fencing and gates.
Wheatstone’s onshore facility is located at the Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area, 12km west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The foundational project included 2 liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million metric tons per annum and a domestic gas plant.
This perimeter security application is a very large job. The scope includes the design, supply and installation of 12km of 2m high chain wire security fencing and 19 gates, including single swing, double swing and automated sliding gates.
Work is scheduled to commence at Wheatstone in Q2. The tender has only just been published and it closes February 17, so hop to it. ♦
